A REALTOR® is a member of the National Association of REALTORS® and subscribes to its strict Code of Ethics.
Code of Ethics
The Code establishes time-honored and baseline principles that come from the collective experiences of REALTORS® since the Code of Ethics was first established in 1913.
Those principles can be loosely defined as:
Loyalty to clients
Fiduciary (legal) duty to clients
Cooperation with competitors
Truthfulness in statements and advertising; and non-interference in exclusive relationships that other REALTORS® have with their clients.
To earn a designation, a REALTOR®, a real estate agent has taken coursework and demonstrated specific skills, performance and knowledge in a particular area of the real estate industry.
Adrian’s designated areas of expertise are as follows:
GRI – GRADUATE REALTOR® INSTITUTE: indicates to buyers, sellers and other real estate industry professionals that you have made the commitment to provide a high level of professional service to your clients by securing a strong educational foundation.
The GRI designation is obtained by attending a specific, intensive series of courses that total 90 hours of classroom instruction. The subject matter educates practitioners about local, state and national real estate practices that affect them and their clients.
ABR – ACCREDITED BUYER REPRESENTATIVE: authorized and designated by the Real Estate Buyer's Agent Council by helping prepare real estate professionals to represent buyer clients in residential real estate transactions. ABR’s provide the quality of service and degree of fidelity to buyers that sellers have customarily enjoyed.
SRS – SELLER REPRESENTATIVE SPECIALIST: the premiere seller agency designation, conferred by the SRS Council, recognizing real estate professionals who have completed special education in seller representation.
TAHS – TEXAS AFFORDABLE HOUSING SPECIALIST: the knowledge to help make the dream of homeownership a reality for more Texans…primarily, first-time, underserved, and at-risk market segments.
SFR – SHORT SALE & FORECLOSURE RESOURCE certification: NAR certification and preparation to help sellers maneuver the complexities of short sales as well as help buyers pursue short sale and foreclosure opportunities. Knowledge basis to help direct sellers to finance, tax, and legal professionals; qualify sellers for short sales; develop a short sale package, limit risk and protect buyers.
CDPE – CERTIFIED DISTRESSED PROPERTY EXPERT: knowledgeable on foreclosure avoidance options available to distressed homeowners. Through comprehensive training and experience, CDPEs have the tools to help homeowners find the best solutions for their unique situations and to avoid foreclosure through the efficient execution of a short sale.
